Parrot Behavior Consultation Options: Professional, Accessible Help for Companion Parrots

Over the past year, I have refined my consultation structure to better reflect the depth of work I provide and the decades of experience behind it.

I am now 72 years of age and have committed my life to the betterment of parrots in captivity. I bring 18 years of experience as an exotic veterinary technician, along with extensive work as a behavior analyst, trainer, breeder, free-flight practitioner, herbalist, and lifelong caregiver. I currently share my home with three African Greys and two budgies, Blossom and Basil.

Ethical, science-based behavior support requires careful assessment, structured planning, and ongoing guidance. It is not a quick-fix service. For that reason, my primary Behavior Transformation Package remains a comprehensive, multi-session process.

During the eight weeks we work together, we address behavior systematically and thoroughly. This structure allows us to resolve even complex or multi-parrot household challenges with clarity and consistency.

At the same time, I have recently heard from several caregivers who reached out for help but felt unable to move forward due to cost.

That matters to me.

While I stand firmly behind the value of my work and the necessity of fair professional compensation, I also do not want finances to be the sole barrier to receiving guidance. Money should never stand in the way of a parrot remaining safely in his home.

For that reason, I have expanded the ways in which caregivers can work with me.

Consultation Options

Behavior Transformation Package

Designed for complex or long-standing behavior challenges.

• Two-hour in-depth assessment
• Eight one-hour follow-up sessions
• Structured behavior modification plan
• Ongoing troubleshooting and refinement

This option provides the highest level of individualized support.

Behavior Reset Package

A streamlined option for those needing structured guidance with a lower financial commitment.

• One-hour assessment
• Four one-hour follow-up sessions
• Focused behavior plan
• Shorter, but still guided, support arc

This is not a “quick fix.” It is simply a scaled version of the full process.

It works well for caregivers who feel confident implementing recommendations and for more circumscribed behavior concerns, such as screaming, biting, or other specific challenges.

An Ongoing Support Option: The Parrot Steward Community

For caregivers who are not in a position to invest in private consultation, I also offer membership in the Parrot Steward Community.

The Community provides:

• Access to a growing evidence-based resource library
• Weekly two-hour live-stream educational sessions
• Direct interaction and Q&A opportunities

Support is always grounded in humane, science-based principles, with an expectation of kindness and support among members.

While community membership does not replace individualized behavior consulting for complex cases, it offers reliable, structured guidance at a significantly lower monthly investment.

After completing a consultation package, many caregivers choose to continue their learning and connection within the Community.

While it may not resolve long-standing problems or very-complex problems, it offers reliable and effective guidance at a significantly lower monthly investment. After completion of this package, you can always go on to join the Community or choose my Minute Plan package (provides extra time in a “bank account for minutes.”

A Thoughtful Structure

My goal is not exclusivity.

My goal is to ensure that companion parrots and the people who love them have access to accurate, compassionate guidance.

That requires structure. It also requires flexibility.

If you are unsure which option is appropriate for your situation, I encourage you to reach out. We can determine together what level of support best fits your needs.

Better lives for parrots do not happen by accident. They happen when caregivers are supported with clear, ethical, evidence-based guidance. If what you have been trying hasn’t been working, professional support may make the difference.
